Open innovation is when the innovation processes is opened up and not only carried out within an organization. It’s often used when organizations feel that a closed innovation process can benefit from external input.

A process a sequence of events over time. The word is often used to talk about development and to understand the process of performing a task or creating something.

Process design focus on the process of how we create an outcome or product. Unlike design, where the goal is the actual outcome of what is being produced.

The process leader (also called facilitator) leads a group through the process of doing things, having an overlooking focus and airplane perspective to help the group forward with the task. Ask essential questions that comes up. Process leaders are often aware of group dynamics and conflict management to help the group with problems that can be in the way of creating a solution.

While the essence of project management is the actual goals, process management focus deeper, on the processes on how to work and how to perform tasks. Process management are the work that a process leader or a facilitator executes.

Project management is the discipline of planning, arranging and organizing a project to achieve a setup of goals and visions. While the main focus of process management is the process of how to perform specific tasks and how the group works together, the focus of project management is more concrete and focuses on tangible goals and outcomes.

Serendipity
The word refer to finding something useful or interesting by coincidence, in a place you least expect. The psychologist Carl Jung speaks about the similar expression called syncronicity. Jung talks about the occurrence of a serie of events that are unlikely to exist by chance.

Trial and error
By trying, failing and trying again you eventually succeed (hopefully). The process of learning by doing and learning by failing is called trial and error. Instead of trying to find the perfect solution by thinking and then executing, this is about doing and daring to fail. The trial and error process also refers to the learning spiral of how to learn from mistakes.
